N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Dr. Deborah Piscitiello, Assistant Professor of Business Management at the University of Jamestown, recently attended The Experiential Classroom XVII Clinic.

This three-day clinic was designed to provide scholars creative and innovative ways to teach entrepreneurship, develop courses, and build programs. It was held at the University of Florida-Warrington College of Business.

“The content shared with me in Florida was presented by some of the founding fathers of entrepreneurship education who have been involved with EE for over 40 years and continue to research and develop every year,” Dr. Piscitiello stated. “The tools I took away with me there will assist in more effective and innovative classroom techniques that will benefit all business courses I teach. New technology and theory introduced to me will also assist in potential workshop development, classroom activities, and possibly international experiences focused on geographic transference and opportunity recognition.”

While at the clinic, Dr. Piscitiello learned lessons from published presenters on how to lecture, how to speak effectively, and how to grow a business without the use of Venture Capitalists. She was also one of nine panelists who were invited to participate in recommending content and activities that should be included in Entrepreneurship textbooks. Additionally, Dr. Piscitiello got the opportunity to collaborate with delegates from Kenya and France, as well as U.S. researchers, engineers and educators.

Dr. Piscitiello holds an MA from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and a PhD from Capella University. She developed “Business in a Digital World” and currently teaches an online Entrepreneurship course, Advertising, Business Mgmt., Human Resource Mgmt., Strategic Mgmt., Sales Mgmt., and Operations & Production Mgmt. at the University of Jamestown.
