(JimmieAthletics.com) – Quarterback Kaler Ray ran for 275 yards and a pair of touchdowns and the Dickinson State University Blue Hawks totaled 488 yards of offense in a 41-14 win over the Jimmies Saturday afternoon.
Dickinson State found the end zone on all six of their first-half possessions, scoring on drives of 60, 90, 41, 43, 94, and 96 yards to take a 41-7 halftime lead.
The Blue Hawks scored three times in the opening quarter before the Jimmies answered on a 10-yard pass from Dylan Klatt (JR/Crookston, Minn.) to Tyler Shurtz (FR/Safford, Ariz.).
On the ensuing drive, DSU needed just 1:13 to retake a three-score lead. Ray connected with Jordan Walker on a 20-yard pass to go up 28-7.
Following a Jimmie punt, Ray broke free for a 90-yard score to make it 34-7.
With 1:09 left in the half, Jed Fike scored on a fourth-and-goal run to make it 41-7.
Keldrick Sullivan (SO/Pelahatchie, Miss.) made it 41-14 with 6:27 left in the third quarter with a 1-yard run, his 15th of the season. Sullivan finished with 144 yards on 28 carries, and ended the season with 1130 yards, the most for a Jimmie back since Eric Dirk ran for 1080 in 2006.
Klatt completed 7-of-16 attempts for 84 yards and also threw an interception. Pete Fehr (SO/Wimbledon, N.D.) had 2 catches for 27 yards and Branden Edwards (JR/Apache Junction, Ariz.) also had two grabs.
Bo Silberg (SR/Rosemount, Minn.) was Jamestown’s leading tackler with 9 stops, including a tackle for loss. Caleb Ellingson (SO/Jamestown, N.D.) was next with 7 and Chase Johnson (JR/Devils Lake, N.D.) added six.
The win lifts Dickinson State to 9-2 while the Jimmies end the season at 4-7.
