(NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High volleyball team stopped their state tournament drought at just one year. A win 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-19) over Minot on Saturday sent the Jays back to the state tournament for the fourth time in five years.

Jamestown will play on Thursday afternoon at 2pm against Shanley. The Deacons were the No. 2-seed in the east, but were upset by fifth-seeded Davies in the championship, who had also beaten top-seeded Red River.

The previous three trips to state since 2012, Jamestown was the west regional runner-up after losing in the championship. The Jays last beat Shanley 3-0 (31-29, 25-23, 25-22) at the state tournament en route to their state title in 2013
