(NewsDakota.com) The South Border Mustangs won the 2016 North Dakota Class B District 6 Volleyball Championship Friday night, topping the number one seed in the tournament.

The #3 seed took down Medina/Pingree-Buchanan three sets to one by scores of 26-24, 25-21, 14-25 and 26-24 to win the title and secure the #1 seed out of the district going into Monday’s Class B Region III Tournament in Ellendale.

In the two other matches played Friday, both regional qualifiers #2 Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter defeated #5 Kidder County 3-0 by scores of 25-15, 25-21 and 25-11, and #4 Linton-HMB swept #6 Strasburg/Zeeland 25-9, 25-12, and 25-16.
