N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – On October 30th, the University of Jamestown Student Council sponsored their annual UJ Trick or Can event.

The event featured teams that went door to door in the community beginning at 5:30 PM and asked for cans and non-perishable food items that will then be donated to the food pantry that is managed by Community Action.

Over 100 students participated on on 9 different teams. Men and Women’s Track and Field Team had the largest team with 26 people, and collected the most food items per person at 38 for a grand total of 1,368 food items.

The Nursing Student Association took second to the track team in size and items per person, but they won the award for best costumed group.

Other participating teams were Science Club/Women’s Golf, Women’s Volleyball/Women’s Basketball, Women’s Soccer, Women’s Softball, Track/Cross Country, Baseball and Wrestling.
