N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – They may be too young to vote in the upcoming election, but the Jamestown Middle Schoolers will make their voices heard this Friday.

On Tuesday, 8th Grade Geography students took a tour of the courthouse and learned a little more about how voting works in Stutsman County. Teachers David Dooley and Lennie Steinmentz brought some of their students throughout the day to learn about the process. Mr. Dooley says the students will be holding a “mock vote” this Friday.

Mr. Dooley says the tour for the students is an extracurricular, but it ties in with their social studies classes.

6th, 7th, and 8th graders will be casting their ballots to name who they’d like to see for both the next North Dakota Governor and President of the United States. Kaylee Panchot will be one of the students voting and counting the ballots on Friday for the mock vote.
