The tenth edition of the Dacotah Bank/North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Football Players-of-the-Week was announced by the conference office Monday.  Nathan Jones of Presentation (S.D.) was selected as Offensive Player-of-the-Week, while his teammate Dylan Paulson was named as Special Teams Player-of-the-Week.  Nicholas McBeain of Valley City State (N.D.) was chosen as Defensive Player-of-the-Week.

NSAA Football Offensive Player of the Week
Nathan Jones – Presentation (S.D.) – 5’6″ – 170 lbs., Sophomore – running back – Britton, S.D. – Jones ran 30 times for a career-high of 190 yards with one rushing touchdown as Presentation (S.D.) gained a 31-21 North Star Athletic Association conference victory over Waldorf (Iowa).  He averaged 6.3 yards per carry.  Jones also had three receptions for a total of four yards.

NSAA Football Defensive Player of the Week
Nicholas McBeain – Valley City State (N.D.) – 6’1″ – 240 lbs., Senior – linebacker – Shakopee, Minn. – McBeain had 21 tackles (5 solo) and a tackle-for-loss in Valley City State’s (N.D.) 27-21 North Star road loss at Jamestown (N.D.).  He tied VCSU’s school record with his 122nd assisted tackle this season and just three tackles shy of the school record of 167 tackles.  It was the third time this season that McBeain has recorded at least 20 tackles in a game.  He is the first Viking ever to top 400 career tackles.

NSAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Dylan Paulson – Presentation (S.D.) – 6’0″ – 170 lbs., Freshman – kicker – Aurora, Colo. – Paulson went 4-of-4 PAT extra-point kicks and hit a 30-yard field goal in Presentation’s (S.D.) 31-21 North Star Athletic Association conference victory over Waldorf (Iowa).  He also had six kick-offs for a total of 310 yards and four punts for a total of 130 yards, including a long punt of 42 yards. 

With VCSU’s loss, No. 12-ranked Dickinson State (N.D.) claimed the North Star Athletic Association conference regular-season outright title.  The Blue Hawks’ seven-game winning streak came to an end with a 33-20 road loss at NCAA Division II Black Hills State (S.D.).  BHSU outgained DiSU 481-330 in total offensive yards.  Dickinson State is 7-2 overall record and 5-0 record in the North Star conference.

The Vikings play their final game November 10th, traveling to Lakeland,Florida to face Southeastern College
