JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Police Department is warning area residents of a convicted sex offender residing within Jamestown.

38 year-old Larry Gant now resides at 608 2nd Street Southwest. He has been assigned a high risk assessment by the North Dakota Risk Level Committee.

Gant was charged in 2003 of aggravated rape after he and two other individuals entered a residence through a bedroom window. They then raped a developmentally disabled teenager that was sleeping in the bedroom.

Gant is not wanted by police at this time and is currently serving the sentence imposed by the court. This notification is meant for public safety and not to increase fear in the community. Any attempt to use this information to harass, intimidate or threaten the offender or family will result in prosecution.
