City,ND (Newsdakota.com)- It’s an early opener this season for The VCSU Men’s Basketball Team. This weekend The Vikings begin their 2016-17 campaign hosting Brandon University of Manitoba. Games are Saturday and Sunday. VCSU is coming off a 22-11 season which saw a trip to The NAIA National Tournament and a 1st round win against Tennessee Wesleyan. With just 3 weeks of practice under their belt 1st year head coach Ryan Montgomery is looking for his squad to focus on improvement in the opening series
Brandon University is already 2 games into their season and will play The University of Regina Friday before heading to Valley City. VCSU plays 5 home games in the month of October. NSAA games will be played in December with a majority of the conference games in January and February.
