D.C. (NewsDakota.com) – A video surfaced over the weekend featuring presidential nominee Donald Trump expressing lewd and vulgar comments about woman.
The 2005 video captures Trump and Billy Bush of Access Hollywood talking on a bus and arriving on set of soap opera “Days of our Lives”, where Trump was scheduled to make a cameo. In the video, Trump is heard saying he tried to make a move on a woman, meanwhile using derogatory words and phrases.
Both U.S. Senators Heidi Heitkamp and John Hoeven released statements in regards to the video.
“Donald Trump’s comments were offensive and wrong. He not only needs to apologize, he needs to show through his words and actions that he does not believe in the views expressed in the video,” Senator Hoeven stated.
“These vulgar and offensive comments reaffirm the extraordinary disrespect toward women – as well as many others – we have already come to expect from Donald Trump, but they’re not what the American people deserve, and they’re not what North Dakotans should accept in a presidential candidate,” Senator Heitkamp announced.
Trump has since released a video, issuing an apology for the 2005 comments.
“I’ve never said I’m a perfect person, nor pretended to be someone that I’m not. I’ve said and done things I regret, and the words released today on this more than a decade-old video are one of them. Anyone who knows me knows these words don’t reflect who I am,” Trump said.
