(NewsDakota.com) – Last year, it was the Jamestown boys tennis team ending a long streak of missing out on the state tournament, but this time it was the boys soccer team. Jamestown clinched the No. 2 seed from the WDA in the state tournament with a win and a Century tie.
Jamestown beat Mandan 4-0 at Rotary Field on Thursday night and with Century’s tie with Bismarck they will finish second. They advance to the state tournament for the first time since 2008. The Jays other previous trips to state were as the No. 4-seed, so this is their highest finish.
The Jamestown tennis team is also headed back to state. They knocked off Mandan in a state qualifier to clinch the return trip to Grand Forks. The Jays made state last year for the first time in 13 years and now will make it two in a row.
