CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) Valley City officials decided to participate in the Red River Water Supply contract being set up by the Garrison Diversion Conservancy to bring Missouri River water to eastern North Dakota during a severe drought.

Valley City Administrator David Schelkoph says the city commission approved of setting up a contract for a one-time fee of $21,000. Schelkoph talked about the reasoning behind signing the contract.

Valley City and other cities had to make a decision as to whether or not they would sign a contract to be a participant by October 1.
