N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown Fire Chief Jim Ruether has released the run report for the days between September 2nd and September 22nd.

According to Chief Ruether, the department has responded to a total of 219 calls in 2016, compared to 296 total in 2015. The department responded to a wide-range of issues including a fire on a power line due to a tree, a vehicle with a gas leak and a vehicle on fire.

Call No. 204 September 2nd, 10:25AM, fire department responded to 1712 9th Ave SE, to a report of a tree on fire. Fire units arrived on scene no fire was present, units stood by until Otter Tail Power arrived on scene/. Cause- tree in powerline. No injuries reported. Time out 35 minutes.

Call No. 205 September 4th, 7:24AM, ready squad responded to 800 12th Ave NE, Multi Family Dwelling, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-fire alarm activated from lightning storm. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 55 minutes.

Call No. 206 September 6th, 4:01PM, ready squad responded to 2605 Circle Drive, NDSH-Lahaug Building, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-accidental alarm activation. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 30 minutes.

Call No. 207 September 7th, 4:25PM, ready squad responded to 421 18th St NE, Multi Family Dwelling, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-power surge activated the alarm system. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 25 minutes.

Call No. 208 September 7th, 4:28PM, ready squad responded to 715 3rd Ave SE, Multi Family Dwelling, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause- power surge activated the alarm system. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 20 minutes.

Call No. 209 September 7th, 6:16PM, ready squad responded to 1117 6th Ave NE, report of strong gasoline smell. Firefighters checked the area and detected a strong odor of gasoline. Cause-vehicle leaking gas. An owner was advised to have it repaired. Time out 15 minutes.

Call No. 210 September 12th, 3:56AM, fire department responded to 1012 10th St NE, Multi Family Dwelling, to a report of a small fire on the outside of the building. Fire was extinguished by law enforcement before fire units arrived on scene. Firefighters investigated and checked for any fire. Cause-smoking materials. No injuries reported. Time out 25 minutes.
