Wegenast, 84, Edgeley, ND, died Monday, September 12, 2016 at the Heritage Centre, Jamestown, ND.
Margaret Rose Ostby was born July 29, 1932 in Fargo, ND, the daughter of Hjalmer and Rose (Rutsch) Ostby. She was raised in LaMoure, ND and attended the rural schools and LaMoure High School. Margaret married Wilbert Wegenast on December 31, 1950 in Evansville, IN while Wilbert was in the army stationed at Fort Knox, KY. After Wilbert was discharged from the service they lived on his family farm where they raised cattle and grain. In later years they upholstered furniture and ran an antique business at the farm. Wilbert died on May 18, 2004. Margaret has continued to live on the farm until the present.
Margaret was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Edgeley, ND.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon (Don) Dowell, Volcano, CA; Carol Wegenast, Mountain View, CA; a sister-in-law, Ione Ostby, Bismarck, ND; a sister-in-law, Karolina Wegenast, Edgeley, ND; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Janet Wegenast; grandson, Kyle Wegenast; brother, Milton Ostby; sister-in-law, Gloria Woodward; and brother-in-law, Marvin Wegenast.
Funeral Service – 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 16, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church, Edgeley, ND
Prayer Service – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley, ND
Visitation – 4:00p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley, ND.
Interment – Mount Hope Cemetery, Edgeley, ND.
