N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Old Farmer’s Almanac has been a reference for farmers and ranchers nationwide since 1792 and is celebrating 225 years.
Founder of the Almanac Robert B. Thomas created the almanac to be informative, providing its famous long-range weather prediction, advice on gardening, cooking and several other themes. Tim Clark has been an editor with the Old Farmer’s Almanac for 40 years.
Clark reported that North Dakota would be seeing a colder than normal winter for 2016 into next year.
Clark stated that they use the solar cycle to predict their weather and long-range forecasts. He stated that they’ve been fairly accurate when it comes to their forecasts, boasting an average of 80% accuracy.
Clark pointed out that they had already begun working on the 2018 book.
