(NewsDakota.com) – The first win as head coach of the Jimmies for Josh Kittell came in convincing fashion Saturday afternoon at Rollie Greeno Field. Jamestown, who had lost one-sided affairs to Concorida (MN) in each of the last four seasons, dominated the game winning 30-13.

The Jimmies jumped out to a 14-0 lead early in the second quarter with both touchdowns following Cobber fumbles. Dylan Klatt, who struggled last week against Valley City State in the first half, showed no signs of starting slow this week with scoring passes to Branden Edwards and JaRiquez Collier.

Concordia immediately extinguished the momentum with a 48-yard touchdown run by quarterback Michael Herzog one play after the Collier touchdown. The Jimmies lead 14-6 into the break.

In the second half it was all Jamestown. They limited the Cobbers to just 29 yards rushing and Keldrick Sullivan scored on two short runs to expand on the lead.

Concordia added a late touchdown with 14 seconds left, but it was too little, too late. It’s the first time the Jimmies have won in this series since 1926, granted the teams have played just seven times.

Jamestown welcomes in a top-25 team next weekend, when No. 16 Dakota Wesleyan comes to town. The Tigers are 1-1 with a 35-21 win over Tabor College yesterday. DWU lost their opener to Dakota State.
