(NewsDakota.com) It was a very solid start for the Oakes High School volleyball team in their 2016 season, as the Tornadoes swept Linton-HMB 3-0 on Tuesday evening.

Oakes won by scores of 26-24, 25-15 and 25-13 to win the match. The Tornadoes had a total of 47 kills and eight aces, with Bella Hansen registering three of the aces.

Oakes will head to Gwinner on Tuesday night to face North Sargent in a non-district affair. Coverage on KDDR-AM 1220/95.9 FM and NewsDakota.com starts around 7 p.m.
