(NewsDakota.com) – The 2016 season kicked off for the Jamestown Blue Jay football team on Friday night by hosting Grand Forks Central. The Jays scored three touchdowns in the span of four minutes to take control of the game en route to a 30-6 win.
The game was tied at six in the closing minute of the first half when Max Montoya hooked up with Jared Kallenbach for 61 yards and moved the ball to the six yard line. On the ensuing play, Jared Harr scored to break the tie.
To start the second half, Jamestown took advantage of great field position to score two quick touchdowns in the first three minutes. Harr scored from four-yards out and then Brian Opsahl ran one in from 28-yards.
Jamestown defeated the Knights for the fourth consecutive season opener. Central has lost their 17th straight game.
The Jays head to West Fargo to play Sheyenne on Friday night in their final non-conference game.
