(NewsDakota.com) – According to a report from Sioux Football Insider, it appears former Blue Jay Noah Wanzek will make the roster for the UND football team and will not see a redshirt in his first year.
Wanzek graduated from Jamestown this spring and will begin his classes at UND soon, but it was rumored that he would sit out his first year on the football field to work in the weight room.
However according to the report:
Wanzek has shown outstanding body control and hands all camp, to the point where the staff has to give him a look. He also has drawn rave reviews for his overall demeanor and competitiveness. Wanzek could use a year in the weight room but UND needs to have it’s best players on the field, no matter the age. They aren’t deep enough yet.
Nothing in that sentence surprises anyone who has watched Wanzek’s career at Jamestown High. The UND football team opens their season September 1st against Stony Brook.
