N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Dollar General has announced the construction of five new store locations in Southeastern North Dakota.

Stores are expected to celebrate a grand opening in Spring 2017 and when completed, will expand the company’s presence to 44 states across the country.

“Expanding our footprint into North Dakota provides Dollar General an opportunity to not only deliver value and convenience to additional customers in the upper Midwest, but to also serve communities through our mission of Serving Others,” said Todd Vasos, Dollar General’s chief executive officer. “Meeting our customers’ needs is our top priority when choosing store locations and we look forward to being a long-standing business partner in the state, as well as welcoming new customers into our stores when these projects are completed next spring.”

Store construction is currently underway in Oakes, Ellendale, Hankinson, Hillsboro and Gwinner. KDDR’s Jason Metko reports that the Oakes store is being build on the north side of town and on the west of North Dakota State Highway 1.

The stores are expected to be approximately 9,100 total square feet. For more information, contact Media Relations at 1-877-944-3477.
