N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A first ever color splash run and walk is set in Carrington on August 18th and all funds will be going towards the Carrington City Pool.

The city pool is roughly 30 years old and a group has come together to save it from it’s current condition. According to the group, pipes are broken and water on the water slides are not working. It’s estimated the cost of a new pool will be from around $1.5 million to $2 million.

Laurie Dietz, Executive Director of the Carrington Chamber of Commerce, says the fundraiser will hopefully provide some finances to the project.

Dietz stated that right now, The Carrington Park Board is working on contacting contractors and looking at grants to help assist with either building a new pool or provide maintenance to the current pool.

You can contact the chamber for more information on the upcoming event or the fundraising efforts of the community pool at 701-652-2524.
