N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Carrington Public School Board met during their newly scheduled meeting time on Tuesday, August 10th.

Several items were discussed during the meeting including the approval of the new budget for the upcoming school year and plans for the newly approved Carrington Elementary School project. Superintendent Brian Duchscherer reports that the board approved their budget for this year.

Included in the budgets were plans to replace both boilers inside the Carrington High School sometime this year.

Currently, the school board is letting bids for the project. Duchscherer also reported that the architect was still in the design phase of the new Elementary School and the board has been in discussions several times a week regarding it.

Duchscherer says the board is still far from a final design, but the board has seen preliminary plans. He says the final plans may be available later this fall or winter. He says the hope is to have bids on the project in January of 2017.

Duchscherer says there is no physical deadline for the project completion at this time.

The school is also looking at moving a sewer line near the High School. School for Carrington begins Tuesday, August 23rd.
