N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Statewide fuel prices have continued their steady decline in 2016.

Fuel website GasBuddy.com reports that the state average in North Dakota is $2.19 a gallon for regular fuel. Gas is even lower than that in Fargo according to AAA Spokesperson Gene LaDoucer.

“Today’s average price per gallon of regular gas in Fargo is $1.99,” LaDoucer reports in a press release. “The last time the average was below $2 was May 14.”

LaDoucer reports that the current average is the lowest for this date since 2004. Roughly 20% of North Dakota stations are now selling gas for under $2.

AAA expects the North Dakota statewide average will approach $2 over the next several weeks.
