N.D.  (NewsDakota.com)  Carrington Post 25 is one step closer to making Class B Legion baseball history as they win two on Friday and advance to the semifinal on Saturday evening July 30th.  Post 25 is going for their third consecutive state championship.  On Friday, there were a total of nine home runs in the five games, below are the results.

Gardner 3  Kidder County 2 (elim game)

The Gardner Express were down 2-1 going into the top of the seventh inning, when Brennan Neva hit a 2-run home run with two out to go ahead 3-2.  Neva, the starting pitcher, worked the bottom of the seventh inning and struck out the side to secure the victory.  Neva was the winner, striking out 14 and no walks.  Center fielder Dawson Hayden also had two hits for the Express.  

Kindred 9 Thompson 8 

Carrington 19 Hazen 14

Third basemen Brady Smith for Post 25 was 5-for-5 at the plate, including a 2-run home run and knocked in six runs, catcher Easton Paeper hit a 3-run home run and shortstop Braxton Hewitt hit a solo shot as Carrington won by five runs.  Jayden Shipmen was the winning pitcher, working five innings.   

Park River 7 LaMoure 6 (elim game)

Carrington 10 Kindred 4

Post 25 turned three double plays, hit two more home runs and beat Kindred by six runs in the fifth and final game Friday.  First basemen Alex Stusynski was 2-for-4 with five RBI including a 2-run home run.  Carrington improves to 27-5-1.  Kindred drops to 31-3.
