(NewsDakota.com) After a dissapointing effort on Monday night on the road, the Oakes Post 36 American Legion baseball team had a much better outing at home Wednesday night, defeating Lisbon Post 7 13-3 in five innings at Cumming Field.
Kollen Knutson drove in what turned out to be the winning run with two out in the bottom of the second inning.
Knutson had three hits in the game, while Matt Kuipers had a single, double and was hit by two pitches. Michael Kelly earned the win, with six strikeouts.
Post 7 (2-10 Class B Southeast Region) had a double from Lawrence Lessman, who was the losing pitcher, allowing 10 hits.
