CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) After serving more than 40 years in education and 18 of those as the Valley City Public Schools Superintendent, Dean Koppelman is retiring from the school district on June 30th.

At the conclusion of his final regular school board meeting on June 15 Koppelman thanked the community and the school district for 18 wonderful years.

School board president Joyce Braunagel presented Koppelman with his portrait that now hangs in the board meeting room with the other superintendents who have served the school district.

On Friday, July 1st Josh Johnson will take over and become the next Valley City Public Schools Superintendent.
