N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Stutsman County Fair is a great way for area youth to show off their skills and knowledge of agriculture. On Friday, Stutsman County 4-Hers will be learning the basics of showmanship.
There are 11 4-H clubs located in Stutsman County with over 185 youth involved. 4-H Program Assistant Robin Barnes with NDSU Extension Stutsman County stated that the livestock committee holds this event every year as a way to refresh 4-Hers on the basics of showmanship.
Barnes points out that agriculture is a significant part of not only Stutsman County, but for North Dakota. She says the participation of the 4-H clubs and youth during the Stutsman County Fair shows that.
Youth will show all different types of livestock including beef, poultry, sheep, swine, horse, and dairy. The presenters will share showmanship and fitting expertise to help 4-Hers improve their skills.
The Stutsman County Fair starts Wednesday, June 29th and continues through Sunday, July 3rd.
