(NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown City Council plans to have an initial review of the city’s Municipal Code done by July as part of a strategic plan to review the entire code and update it.
Mayor Katie Andersen said Tuesday at a Finance and Legal Committee meeting that it is part of the city’s strategic plan to update the list of laws in 2012.
The committee made the decision to review a section of the code during special meetings held the last Monday of every month, starting Feb. 27. They plan to have an initial review of the entire code done by July, at which time they can talk to legal counsel or a codifying company about areas of the code they have concerns about.
Any actual changes to the code will come later in the year, after going through the correct legal process.
