BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Aeronautics Commission has awarded roughly $3.4 million in infrastructure grants to several airports in the state.
According to Director Kyle Wanner, the grants are used to help fund numerous high priority airport projects in North Dakota.
“The revenue source for these airport grants is derived primarily from taxes on aviation fuel and aircraft sales. A majority of the state grant allocations will also match federal grants that are anticipated to be received for 2016 airport projects.” Wanner stated.
Jamestown received $170,174, roughly 5% of the total infrastructure grant monies. The funds will go on to assist in the Wetland Reduction Phase, Wildlife Hazard Assessment, Passenger Boarding Bridge, and Terminal Secure Area Expansion.
Other airports receiving funding include Carrington for Runway Rehabilitation, Edgeley for RTA Rehabilitation, Harvey for Runway Rehabilitation, Design SRE and Terminal Building in Oakes, and WHA and WHMP with Cultural Inventory in Valley City.
