N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—-Freshman Kyle Leapaldt allowed only 1 run in 7 innings to lead Carrington past Central McLean in the opening round of the state tournament. The Cardinals defeated the Cougars 4-1, scoring 3 unearned runs in the bottom of the 5th inning. An inning later the Cards took advantage of 2 Cougar errors and scored 3 unearned runs securing the 4-1 win. Jayden Rosenau led off the 5th inning, reaching on an error and later scored on an error by the right fielder, dropping a flyball off the bat of Connor Wendel.
