CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) A Valley City man is facing a DUI after he crashed into a tree in the 500 block of 6th Street Southwest around 5:45pm May 24th in Valley City.

Fire Chief Gary Retterath says witnesses told police that the truck burst into flames upon impact.

Police Lt. David Swenson says another man helped get the driver Justin Tangen out of the vehicle just before if burst into flames.

Swenson says Tangen was cited for DUI following the crash. Tangen was take to Mercy Hospital treated and released.
