N.D. (AP) – Former President Bill Clinton stressed Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton’s experience and ability to work with members of the Republic Party in urging North Dakota residents to vote for her in the state’s Democratic caucus on June 7.

The past commander in chief spoke Friday afternoon before a crowd of about 400 people gathered in Fargo. In highlighting his wife’s ability to work across the aisle, Bill Clinton referenced her work with Republicans in the 1990s to change the adoption and foster care system. Supporters of Hillary Clinton opened a state office in Bismarck this week. Hillary Clinton is competing with U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders for the Democratic nomination. Sanders held campaign rallies in Fargo, Grand Forks and Bismarck last week.

The Democratic victor will likely run against presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump in the general election.
