N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – State Representative Jessica Haak was recently selected to attend the National Foundation for Women Legislators (NFWL) 2016 Human Trafficking Summit.

The summit is limited to 30 female elected officials across the nation and will be held in Arlington, VA on June 16th and 17th. The summit is a 1.5 day discussion on child sex trafficking issue, which Haak says is one of the most critical issues in America today.

“I am honored to be selected to attend this incredible summit,” said Haak. “I look forward to expanding my knowledge on how to combat this atrocious crime and to continue to work with local leaders and at the state level to bring an end to human trafficking in North Dakota.”

The goal of the NFWL is a to provide strategic resources to elected women, exchange of diverse legislative ideas, and effective governance through conferences and personal relationships.
