N.D.  (NewsDakota.com)  The Cardinals had three hits from Freshmen Payton Smith and a big 2-run home-run from Senior Alex Stusynski as they roll past the Aggies of Velva on Friday afternoon 8-2 in a non-region matchup.  Carrington is now 15-1 overall and currently riding a 13 game win streak, Velva drops to 14-12.

Braxton Hewitt was the winning pitcher improving to 4-1 on the year, working all seven innings with two runs, three hits and three strikeouts.  Taking the loss was Aaron Dean, working four innings with five runs on eight hits.  Seth Fahy worked three innings in relief allowing five hits and three runs.  Stusynski hit his 2-run home-run in the top of sixth inning to deep left-center field off of Fahy.  Hewitt at the plate was 2-for-3 with two singles, he leads the team in five categories including 23 hits, .477 batting average, 22 RBI, four triples and 13 stolen bases.  

Next up for Carrington will be Monday at home against fellow Region 3 team Lakota/Edmore.  Pregame will start about 3:45pm on AM 1600 KDAK and newsdakota.com, with first pitch at 4pm.
