CITY (NewsDakota.com)–The Hi-Liner girls are back in Eastern Dakota Conference (EDC) basketball action tonight when the travel to West Fargo.
Valley City is looking to bounce back from a loss in the Barnes County Tournament title game to Maple Valley, and also looking to avenge an early-season loss to the Packers, who are ranked second in the latest State Class “A” girls poll.
West Fargo topped the Hi-Liners 53-33 in the opening game of Hi-Liner season on December 6th. Since then, Valley City has won five of it’s eight games, and has moved to a 3-2 conference record, fourth place among the league teams.
The Packers are 8-1 overall, their lone loss going to Grand Forks Red River. They have won three straight, including a 65-51 win over Wahpeton at home in their last matchup Tuesday. Valley City bested Wahpeton 44-43 in their last EDC matchup.
Tonight’s game could be a battle of three-point shooters. Hi-Liner Megan McDaniel is fourth in the league in three-point shooting percentage, at 40%. Packer Lexi Lennon is third at 40.7%, and leads the team in scoring at 13.6 per game, fifth best in the EDC.
Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Pregame coverage begins on KOVC-AM 1490 at 7:10 p.m.
