CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) A day after the New York City trip, the Valley City Hi-Liners struggled on the tennis court but gutted out a victory against the Fargo North Spartans on May 3rd.

In singles competition:

Reagan Ingstad beat Mia May, Maia Wendel bet Megan Hallquist, Breanna McDonald beat Julia Morris, Cali Halgrimson lost to Sienna Voglewede, Angela Larson lost to Erika Hanson and Hannah Aberle lost to Lauren Harr.

In Doubles:

R.Ingstad/Wendel beat May/Hallquist, A. Ingstad/R.Schueneman lost to Morris/Hardie and McDonald/Larson beat Branden/Hanson.

In boys baseball the Hi-Liners dropped a double header to Fargo Davies with an 18 to 10 loss in game one and a 23 to 5 loss in game two.

In girls softball Valley City split a double header with Devils Lake. In game one the Hi-Liners shut out Devils Lake 11 to 0. In game two Devils Lake nipped Valley City with a 11 to 10 victory.

In the Stutsman County Track & Field meet held May 3rd in Jamestown, Carrington ladies came out on top with 269 team points followed by the Hi-Liners ladies who placed second with 154 points, Medina-Pingree-Buchanan had 130 and Jamestown had a team score of 59.

Meanwhile, the Carrington Cardinal boys captured first place with 254 points, Medina-Pingree-Buchanan 118, Valley City Hi-Liner boys 77 points, Jamestown 69 and Montpelier had 32 points in the Stutsman County Track & Field meet on May 3rd.
