(NewsDakota.com) – The 2004 team is often regarded as the best team in Jimmie baseball history, but they no longer will have the school record in wins. Sunday, the 2016 version of the club won their 47th of the season and surpassed the record set of 46 back in ’04. Jamestown split their regular-season final series against Mayville St.

The Jimmies won the second game on Saturday, 19-2, and the opener on Sunday, 2-1. They lost the other two games; 11-1 and 11-2.

Jamestown and Valley City will host the North Star baseball tournament beginning on Friday afternoon. The Jimmies will play at 4pm on Friday afternoon against Viterbo University in the opening round of the NSAA baseball tournament.
