N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The community of Jamestown was powered for a day using alternative energy sources through Ottertail Power Company on Wednesday this week.

Area Manager Jeremy Rham with OTPC stated that work needed to be done a substation that served the Jamestown community, so Ottertail crews needed to find an alternative source for the power.

Rham pointed out that to do this, the group needed to use different power sources in the area.

When asked if these local generation sources would become permanent, Rham stated they would not. The company would only pull from those sources to provide power in situations of maintenance or breakdowns.
