N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown’s new city forester has buckled down and set her goals for the upcoming year.

Jamestown City Forester Sheri Steckler has been doing spring tree inspections around the community this month. Steckler stated that her job will have her updating inventory of trees on public property and assessing any defects with those trees. She stated that Dutch Elm Disease is a common problem in trees in the community and they will begin inspections for DED this June.

Steckler pointed out that residents should be on the lookout for the disease, with a common signal that the tree has Dutch Elm Disease is “flagging”.
