N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A free conference is being held in Jamestown beginning this week to look at affordable housing in the state.
The executive director of the Stutsman County Housing Authority says a lot has been done to create affordable housing in North Dakota, but there is still a lot of work remaining.
David Klein says even with declining prices for rentals in the oil patch, the issue of affordable housing remains a challenge in all areas of the state. He says figures from last week’s Demographics Conference showed a stark reality of what we are up against.
Klein says a conference on “Free, Fair and Public Housing” will be held in Jamestown this week. He says the conference not only looks at affordable housing, but also the rules and regulations related to housing.
Klein says recent rule changes has created a need for a lot of education for those looking for housing as well as those providing housing.
