N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Stutsman County residents will be asked at the polls in June if the Stutsman County States Attorney should be an appointed position or remain as an elected position.

During the monthly Stutsman County Commission meeting, commissioners discussed the ballot language regarding the county position. Stutsman County Auditor Casey Bradley stated that the board approved of the measure being added to the ballot.

Current States Attorney Fritz Fremgen refrained from giving his opinion on the change. Bradley stated that they have run the language by several other commissions.

The measure and language were approved unanimously by the council.
