(NewsDakota.com) – Not only is Thursday Carson Wentz’s opportunity to showcase his skills for the NFL’s top decision makers, but it will be a chance for University of Jamestown LB Jarelle Miller to do the same.
“It’s a blessing,” Miller responded when asked about the opportunities provided by Carson Wentz’s name recognition on Pro Day. “Most guys don’t get that opportunity at the level of football I am playing at.”
Miller was the Jimmies leader in tackles the last two seasons and the 2014 NSAA defensive player of the year.
This won’t be his first chance in front of the scouts, Miller just returned from Minneapolis where he participated in the regional combine at the Vikings facility. “[Green Bay Packers safety Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix] said I looked nervous and if he can tell that so can the scouts,” Miller explained after talking with his childhood friend who now plays in the NFL.
“I saw it now, I am the kind of guy if you show me once I know what to expect the next time,’ referring to getting the nerves out for Pro Day.
Miller said he has done nothing but work on the areas he felt he could improve on from the regional combine. That included his start in the 40-yard dash.
ESPN Jamestown will be providing updates from Pro Day from 10am-1pm. You can also listen online at NewsDakota.com.
