(NewsDakota.com) – In a battle of No. 1 vs. No. 2 in the state, it was the No. 2 Central Cass Squirrels who came out on top Friday night in Carrington.

Hannah Breske scored 22 points, and Courtney Dixon scored 17 as they led No. 2 Central Cass to a 53-46 win over No. 1 Carrington in Class B girls basketball action. Both teams entered the contest undefeated.

Central Cass led 16-13 after the first quarter, and held leads after every period. Only four players scored for Central Cass, but the duo of Breske and Dixon combined for 39 of their 53 points.

Emily Thompson led Carrington with 13 points, and Nikki Braaten added nine points in the loss.
