CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) Faith Lutheran Church members in Valley City will soon be in their new church, two years and four months after a fire weakened the older structure to much to repair it.

In the early morning hours on October 21st in 2013 a burglar searching for money broke into Faith Lutheran church and set fire to the structure in an attempt to hide his crime.

On February 20th & 21st church members were busy moving items and cleaning up the new church getting ready for their first worship service.

Pastor Jolene Knutson-Hanse says the first service in the new church is tentatively set to be held on Sunday, February 28th.

She says Faith Lutheran Church wants to thank the congregation and pastor of Epworth United Methodist Church for the use of their facility while the new church was under construction.
