Fousek, 93, of Jamestown, ND, passed away Wednesday evening, February 17, 2016 at Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo, ND.
Bernice Prodzinski was born August 24, 1922, on the family farm near Courtenay, ND, the daughter of John and Rose (Janikowski) Prodzinski. She was raised on the family farm near Courtenay and attended Durham Township School. Bernice married Lorney Fousek of Kensal on September 2, 1941 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fried, ND. They farmed near Grace City and Kensal and then owned and operated the L&Bea Bar in Woodworth, ND beginning in 1972. Lorney died on August 24, 1973 and Bernice moved to Jamestown where she as employed at the V.F.W., retiring in 1998. She had been a resident of Ave Maria Village the past three years. For entertainment, Bernice enjoyed playing pinochle and fishing. She was the family historian and kept an accurate journal.
She was a member of St. James Basilica, Ladies’ Circle, and the V.F.W. Auxiliary.
Bernice is survived by her three daughters, Darlene (Lloyd) Mord, Jamestown, Phyllis (David) Manz, Glenfield, ND, and Bonnie (Terry) Hochhalter, Jamestown; three grandchildren, Denise Martin, Minot, ND, Joshua (Stephanie) Manz, Jamestown, and Brooke (Bruce) Nelson, Valley City, ND; three great-grandchildren, Whitney, Harper, and Bo; and special friend, Lorraine Zimney, Jamestown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four grandchildren; seven brothers; and five sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 22, 2016 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown, North Dakota.
Visitation: 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Vigil: 7:00 p.m., Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Interment: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at St. John’s Cemetery, Kensal.
