N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Both City and County officials are being called out in a series of grievances and complaints that have been filed by Sgt. Thomas Nagel following a report from KVLY Valley News Live.

Stutsman County Auditor Casey Bradley
A grievance filed against Stutsman County Auditor Casey Bradley states that Bradley gave information to Valley News Live pointing out a feud between Stutsman County Sheriff Chad Kaiser and President of the FOP Sgt. Thomas Nagel. The grievance alleges that Bradley maligned and vilified Sgt. Nagel in his statements made.

The first grievance calls for Casey Bradley to be fired from his position.

Another grievance filed against Bradley alleges that after the KVLY investigation aired, Bradley targeted the FOP and created a hostile environment for the FOP. The complaint alleges that Police Chief Scott Edinger told Sgt. Nagel that he wanted him to move the FOP vending machines and ATM’s out of the Law Enforcement Center after a conversation with Bradley.

The grievance also states that Edinger called for Sgt. Nagel’s immediate resignation.

Chief Edinger stated that he never once called for Sgt. Nagel’s resignation.

In a response, Bradley stated that he did contact Chief Edinger, but it was just to inform him that the commission called for a special meeting in regards to the recently aired investigation.

Bradley also sent a letter in to the Stutsman County Commissioners, stating that the complaint had alleged that he has failed to fulfill his statutory duties under the North Dakota Century Code. Bradley stated that it was a complete fabrication in his letter to the commission.

Bradley points out that a call was put in to Chief Edinger the night the interview aired, but it was just professional courtesy to inform him of a potential commission meeting to discuss a Jamestown Officer. The Commission has decided not to take action on the grievances filed against Auditor Bradley.

Jamestown Police Chief Scott Edinger
A grievance filed by Sgt. Thomas Nagel states that the night the Whisteblower segment aired, it was requested by Police Chief Scott Edinger that Nagel resigns.

According to the complaint, Nagel writes that Chief Edinger asked for his resignation immediately following the broadcast by Valley News Live. Chief Edinger stated that tensions were there between the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Department and Sgt. Thomas Nagel and that prompted Edinger to ask Nagel to stay out of the department.

Edinger pointed out that he rarely issues written orders. Both the Sheriff’s Department and Police Department are investigating internally to see if there are any policy violations.

Internal Investigation
After results came back from the state indicating that there was never any criminal incidents to charge anyone, both the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Department and Jamestown Police Department decided to conduct an internal, joint investigation. Chief Edinger stated the investigation is being conducted by officers from both departments.

Sheriff Chad Kaiser believes that all of these grievances and allegations being issued are a distraction and meant to hurt the integrity of the department.

In the complaint against the department, it alleges that money was wasted by having the state conduct a criminal investigation into the department and that both Sheriff Kaiser and Chief Edinger were wasting the tax-payers’ money. Edinger stated that the state investigation was needed because Law Enforcement is held to a higher standard.

Both Edinger and Kaiser pointed that the internal investigation is not to find out who sent the jet ski information to KVLY, but rather to find if there has been any policy violations by any member of either the Jamestown Police Department or Stutsman County Sheriff’s Department.
