N.D. (AP) – After a week of record warmth, wintry
weather is sweeping through the Dakotas. The National Weather
Service says falling temperatures during the day will give way to
overnight lows around zero. The wind chill in some areas could
reach 20 below.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Ten Army reservists who served in
Afghanistan are back home in North Dakota. The members of the 461st
Engineer Company flew into Fargo on yesterday. The company
specializes in carpentry, plumbing and electrical work.
CHURCHS FERRY, N.D. (AP) – The few remaining residents of the
flood-threatened North Dakota town of Churchs Ferry voted yesterday
to maintain the city. Five people voted to continue as an
incorporated city, while two voted to dissolve the community. The
Ramsey County Commission meets Friday to certify the results.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – A longtime marking director is becoming
the new executive director of the National Sunflower Association.
John Sandbakken is now the head of the North Dakota-based group. He
takes over for the recently retired Larry Kleingartner, who had led
the association since its founding in 1981.
