N.D.- Just as was the case on December 29, the Oakes and Edgeley-Kulm basketball teams split the same way; with the girls of Oakes winning big, and the boys of Edgeley-Kulm doing the same.
Girls: Oakes 52 Edgeley-Kulm 22
The Tornado girls earned their third win of the season off a solid 20 points from Nicole Warren, but the girls were lead by Karlie Knutson’s play in the second half, as she dropped down 14; only after scoring just four points in the first half.
Oakes improves to 3-5, while Edgeley-Kulm still is looking for their first win of the year, now 0-8
Boys: Edgeley-Kulm 66 Oakes 33
In the boys contest, once again the Rebels had Beau Diegal shine, 17 points, 14 of them in the first half. In contrast, the Tornadoes didn’t have 14 points until early in the third quarter.
Oakes spread out the points, as eight different players recorded points; lead by Simon Maddock’s 10, the only player to score in double digits for the Tornadoes.
Edgeley-Kulm improves to 9-4, while Oakes falls to 1-9.
Next up for the Tornadoes is a double header against Leola-Frederick South Dakota on Thursday in Frederick.
