Allen Wilson, at the age of 61, passed away on January 30th, 2016 at Ave Maria Village.
Randy was born a twin on October 31, 1954 in Jamestown, ND to W.C. (Bill) and Ruth Wilson. Randy grew up on the Wilson Family Farm, in Woodbury Township with 3 brothers and 3 sisters. He attended 1st and 2nd grade at Woodbury Township Country School, and grades 3-12 in Jamestown where he was on the high school wrestling team and FFA Member. Randy graduated from Jamestown High School in 1972 and furthered his education at Wyoming Technical Institute Laramie, graduating with a Doctor of Motors degree in 1973. Randy returned to Jamestown to farm with his dad. He married Candice (Candy) Eberhardt on June 22nd, 1974 and they were blessed with 3 children, Jennifer (1976), Jeremy (1977), and Jaimie (1979). Randy built their family home and farm where they raised their children. He farmed through 2014 and from 1995-99 drove semi over the road for Charles Davis Trucking.
Randy was involved and a member of many organizations: Past President 1980-81 James River Eagles Aerie #2337, Jim River Drift Skippers Snowmobile Club, Woodbury Township Board 1991-2016, 2nd Generation Stutsman County Fair Board 2008-2015, was instrumental in the formation of Dakota Motocross Club and Co-President with Jeremy for several years beginning 1994, Buffalo City Karting, and Harley Owners Group (HOG), and member of New Hope Free Lutheran Church, Jamestown.
Randy’s childhood dream came true in 1983 when he began flying lessons. He flew his own “Ultralight Airplane” in 1985. He purchased his first airplane in 1989, a 1946 Aeronca Champ with two seats and many rides were given from his own grass landing strip at his farm. He loved introducing his kids, grand-kids, family, and friends to his true passion seeing life from a new perspective and being free. Randy pursued his ambition as spray pilot in his Piper Pawnee.
Randy had many passions and favorite past times: Snowmobiling, Skiing the Montana and Colorado Rockies, Banff, Canada and Zermatt, Switzerland; Hunting, Trapping, Clowning for the Eagles, Pool Team, Drag Racing and Stock-car pit crew, Go-Cart Racing, Flying, Fishing, Camping, Ice Fishing, winter movie nights including Clint Eastwood, and time with family.
Along with his immediate family, Randy is survived by his brother and sisters, Ginger Wilson-Schlecht, Mandan; Renee Wilson-Pool, Thornton, CO; and Ricky Wilson, Jamestown.
He was preceded in death by parents Bill & Ruth Wilson; brother, Billy Wilson; brother, Tom Wilson; sister, Bonnie Geist; and nephew, Wendell Letcher.
Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 6, 2016 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Steve Berntson officiating.
Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 5, 2016 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Jamestown.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, Randy’s family would prefer memorials to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Anne Carsen Center for Children, or the Stutsman County Fair.
