“We still have bills to pay and checks coming in, so there isn’t a final figure. It’s safe to say we raised more than $12,000 during our Junkin’ for GI’s event.” said Katie Ryan-Anderson.

Ryan-Anderson and others from Adrian set a goal of $20,000 and will wait until Giving Hearts Day on February 11th to donate the funds, which the Dakota Medical Foundation will match dollar for dollar.

“$20,000 is an impossible sum for a veteran struggling to hold down a job, possibly struggling with addiction. But a veteran didn’t go to war to protect himself. He or she went there to protect all of us. So it’s only fitting that all of us would work together to protect veterans once they come home.” Ryan-Anderson pointed out.

“”We couldn’t ask for better support. The community really wrapped it’s arms around this cause.”
